Welcome to our Arsenal v Chelsea preview. This is arguably the biggest Premier League game of the season so far, as if either of these teams manages to win the game, they are likely to be top of the table at the end of it (although Liverpool can prevent this if Chelsea win). This is always a tense affair given the rivalry between the two teams, and I don’t expect this crucial match to be any different.

Team and Selection News

Both of these teams have selection dilemmas ahead of this fixture, with Chelsea still trying to decide who their first choice striker should be. Fernando Torres scored in their previous Premier League fixture and make get the nod. Mourinho also has to decide whether or not to field Juan Mata, with Oscar now fully fit again. Arsenal have an almost fully fit midfield and attack now, with only Lukas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain still missing, but the German is on the verge of returning to first-team duty. Wenger will thus have selection dilemmas, but Theo Walcott seems likely to start after scoring twice at Manchester City. Laurent Koscielny was carried off in the City defeat, but he could recover to face Chelsea, if not Thomas Vermaelen will deputise.
