Team and Selection News

Both of these teams were in Champions League action in mid-week, and both also certainly have the squad depth required to make significant changes should they wish to do so. City will be hopeful that their captain and defensive lynchpin Vincent Kompany will return at the back, while Jose Mourinho may leave David Luiz on the bench as the Brazilian made a pretty dire error in Chelsea’s previous Premier League fixture.

Conclusion

This is naturally a difficult game to call considering that these are two of the Premier League’s very best teams. Most pundits consider it to be a very difficult game to call, with the divisions of opinion running deep indeed. But City have not looked particularly great away from home so far this campaign, and defensively they have been quite vulnerable. I just fancy that Mourinho might work out a way to expose these vulnerabilities, and Chelsea will nick a narrow win.
