Swansea City are planning to make a bid for Leeds United winger Sam Byram in January.

The 22-year-old refused to sign a new contract at Elland Road in the summer, sparking speculation that he could be on the move.

Swans boss Garry Monk is keen to add another pacy winger to his squad and, with Byram’s deal due to expire next summer, could land the Leeds man for a cut-price fee.

Having been linked with a transfer in the summer, Leeds boss Uwe Rosler recently admitted he was concerned the speculation was affecting the player’s focus.

An England youth international, Byram’s versatility makes him an attractive option as he is comfortable playing on both wings and as a full-back.
