Here is our Lazio v Napoli preview for this weekend. Napoli began this season with high hopes of challenging for the title under their new manager Rafael Benitez. But while the Spaniard’s charges began the season well, recent weeks has seen them slide away somewhat with some indifferent form. They travel to Rome this weekend, hoping to snap a losing streak and get back into the title race, with Juventus having opened up a six point gap over them at the top of Italy’s Serie A.

Team and Selection News

Having been comfortably outplayed by Juventus at the Stadio delle Alpi a couple of weeks ago, Napoli were disappointingly beaten on their home turf by Parma last time out. The lack of goals in recent fixtures will concern Benitez, so the away side may make changes up front for this fixture, although record signing Gonzalo Higuain is highly likely to start whatever team Benitez fields. Lazio will be without a host of players for this fixture, possibly including the German striker Miroslav Klose, this will surely test the strength of their squad.
