Liverpool are set to hand a golden opportunity to Bundesliga veteran Stefan Kiessling, according to the Daily Express.

The Reds are believed to be keen on signing the 31-year-old, who has been reduced very much to being a substitute with Bayer Leverkusen this season.

But Klopp is a fan of the striker and would like to being him in to Anfield in a bid to bolster his front line options.

Kiessling is considering his options but admits he had a fondness to Leverkusen having played there for over 10 years.

He said: “The situation is that of course I would like to be playing – I’ve been here for 10 years and love this club and everybody knows how happy I am here.

“I’ve got a pretty good relationship with the fans and of course also with the club.

“I love playing here and I love this club, and it’s overall a very, very difficult situation for me and everybody knows this.”
