Welcome to our preview of the Manchester City v Barcelona tie in the Champions League. This is one of the most hotly anticipated matches of recent years, with two of the continent’s highest scorers and most attractive teams facing up to one another. Barcelona have the European pedigree and experience, but City have been an awesome prospect on their home turf this season. However, they will need a better performance than they served up against Bayern Munich or recently against Chelsea to cope with Messi & co.

Team and Selection News

Barcelona hope to welcome their Brazilian forward Neymar back for this game, but if their multi-million signing isn’t fit then they Alexis Sanchez and Pedro will continue to play either side of Lionel Messi. Jordi Alba and Javier Mascherano will both probably miss out. Sergio Aguero will be a massive loss for the home side, nearly matched by the absence of Fernandinho, who is unlikely to recover from muscle injury in time to play. Samir Nasri may also miss the game after a recent knee ligament concern, and is highly unlikely to start.
