Ayoze Perez has confirmed that Manchester United are interested in his services.

The Newcastle United man has been linked with a move away from St James’ Park, with the Red Devils among the clubs believed to be in the running.

And the 22-year-old former Tenerife forward has admitted United have been in touch, report the Manchester Evening News.

“There is truth in the talk about interest in me. It’s rewarding for me,” Perez told Radio Club Tenerife.

“There is much truth in the interest from Tottenham and Man United, but my place is at Newcastle.”

Perez plundered seven goals in 39 Newcastle games last season, which included winners against Liverpool and Tottenham, as well as an elegant flick at West Brom. He has hit four goals in 17 games this season.

United have just two recognised strikers in Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial after Louis van Gaal sent James Wilson on loan to Brighton.

Perez is contracted to Newcastle until 2019 and has made 17 appearances so far this season.
