Manchester United have been in contact with Paris Saint-Germain over the availability of Edinson Cavani, according to reports in France.

Yesterday’s edition of L’Equipe claimed the Uruguayan is unhappy with his wide role with the Ligue 1 champions and feels he would perform better through the middle.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the main man at PSG though, and his departure at the end of the season could pave the way for Cavani to play in his preferred position.

However, with the French club keen on replacing Ibrahimovic with Cristiano Ronaldo, Cavani may have to leave the Parc des Princes to play centrally.

Robben addresses speculation
Manchester United target Arjen Robben has addressed speculation about his future – insisting he is happy at Bayern Munich, the Manchester Evening News report.

The Dutch international was one of the first names on Louis van Gaal’s wanted list when he took charge at Old Trafford last year.

Robben went on to confirm United’s attempts to sign him after the World Cup – but opted to stay with German champions Bayern.
